‘Bell, call me,’ Jane texted. With just two seconds her phone vibrated, oh lovely female device. ‘What Dirty?’ the breathing was consoling somehow. ‘I got everything installed, I read the fucking files, something I don’t like is going on.’ ‘Really,’ which was Bell’s way of saying ‘yeah, you’re so right’. ‘What did you make out of it, and let me say I’m glad you called because there’s too much action going on just here.’ ‘Like?’, which was Jane’s way of saying ‘do tell!’ without sounding too eager.

‘Your ‘Zhara’,’ Jane didn’t miss the sarcasm in Bell’s voice here, ‘has been very busy’. ‘With?’ ‘Running her program.’ ‘Which you are unable to break.’ ‘Yep. Still no word from C on that one, which might cause his balls to shrink to normal sizes.’ Jane laughed and Bell chuckled with her. ‘What I see, is that your ‘Zhara’ is not just running this program, but she is also getting data from the net.’ ‘Which kind?’ ‘Sounds.’ ‘Sounds?’ ‘Yep, you heard that one right. Sounds.’ ‘She’s not installing her music download program?’ Jane tried to lighten up a bit. ‘Don’t think so, Dirty. She’s got something else on her mind.’ Jane waited for Bell to continue.

‘I think she’s filling a database with a lot of noises, she’s kept somewhere.’ ‘Why the fuck would she do that?’ Now Jane started to even talk like Zhara. ‘Got no idea. Thing is, we have an amplifier, a nerd in sounds, a nerd in deaf people, various nerds in computers and stuff…’ ‘And ECG’s…,’ Jane mused. ‘Bell, you know, I get an idea. Might be dumber than a nails head but still…’ ‘Keep those thoughts, because that may be just true. What about you?’ ‘Ling has been busy to get into contact with our Chinese…’ ‘That isn’t talking, even when they interrogate the sleep out and slap the terror into him.’ ‘He’s an Asian, what would you expect?’ Jane said matter of fact, then went on.

‘So he was her courier, needed to bring the notebook to her.’ ‘Or keep it from the remaining nerds,’ Bell reminded softly. ‘Well, yeah. But anyway, she needed that notebook for whatever reason. Now, you know what I found? She didn’t attend the last meetings anymore.’ ‘Practical?’ ‘So I read, but I don’t believe that.’ ‘I think she found out there was a fraud.’ ‘Or was she a mole herself?’ ‘I don’t think so.’ ‘Why not?’ ‘She had been busy getting her hands to all kinds of programs. I’ll get back to you with the specifics, but anyway, she tried very hard to get her job done.’ Jane closed her eyes in concentration. ‘Which is exactly who she is, hardworking and empathetic like a frozen cucumber. Rationally, she linked the fact that her programs were lost two times in the hands of others, and became suspicious. Logically.’ ‘She didn’t lose it herself?’ ‘No, I can see that. Their communication is very clear about that.’ ‘Who did she lose it to?’ ‘My Zhara,’ Jane said with a smile.
